Afghan journalist assassination.
Ahmad Hanaish, Afghan journalist of Radio Azadi & head of Dunya & Kahkisha radios & member of the Pak Afghan Journalists Union was assassinated tonight in Islamabad by unknown people around midnight when He wanted to go to his residence in the G6 Embassy Road area, three armed men shot at him from a distance of one meter. One bullet hit Mr. Hanaish superficially in his head and two bullets hit him deeply in his leg. Doctors have said that two bullets are stuck in two parts of Mr. Hanaish’s leg…
and they are going to remove the bullets tomorrow at one o’clock after the surgery. The attack on Mr. Hanaish’s life took place in the diplomatic and heavily guarded area of Islamabad and a few steps away from the Parliament of Pakistan.
Mr. Hanaish was first transferred to PIMS hospital and from there to one of the private hospitals. Mr. Hanaish was seriously injured in this incident on his leg and head and is now admitted to a hospital in Islamabad. Doctors said that Mr. Hanaish’s health condition is alarming.
