Halaat.com Karachi – Chairman of the Muhajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-H), Afaq Ahmed, has voiced a stern rebuke over the recent police deployments from Shikarpur to Karachi, labeling them illegal and a blatant disregard for the democratic system purportedly in place in Sindh. In a discussion with business leaders, Ahmed expressed his concerns about the state of governance in Sindh, likening it to a monarchy rather than a democracy, and warned that such actions could lead to a reevaluation of Karachi’s future within the province.
According to Afaq Ahmed,
the provincial rulers’ biased and unilateral decisions are indicative of a non-democratic regime in Sindh. He criticized the permanent appointment of police officers who were initially temporarily posted from Dadu and Larkana to Karachi, arguing that it not only robbed the Karachi police force of recruitment opportunities but also facilitated the establishment of an organized system of banditry by those who were transferred.
The MQM-H leader condemned the Sindhi government for its practices,
suggesting that the transfer of police officers from Shikarpur to Karachi not only undermines the security of Karachi’s citizens but also threatens to spread anarchy by placing their lives and property at risk. He emphasized the need for the Sindh government to amend its ways and to stop encroaching on the rights of the urban populace.
Ahmed’s address highlighted the distress among Karachi’s inhabitants who are increasingly feeling marginalized by what is perceived as the provincial government’s unfair policies and appointments. He warned that if the situation persists, the residents of Sindh’s urban areas might reconsider their allegiance to the province, seeking a future where their rights and security are adequately protected.
The MQM-H Chairman’s call to action serves as a reminder of the ongoing political and administrative issues facing Karachi, a city that has long dealt with complex challenges, including those related to law enforcement and governance. Ahmed’s statement has sparked a conversation among stakeholders about the need for fair and legal administrative practices in Sindh, particularly in its largest metropolis, Karachi.
